- Russia reacted cautiously to aproposed cease-fire agreementannounced by Ukrainian and US negotiators and held out the possibility of a phone call between presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in the coming days.
- US military aid to Ukraine has nowstarted moving across the border from Poland, following an agreement between US and Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia, according to Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski.
- A Russian missilekilled one personas it struck an infrastructure facility in the central Ukrainian city of Kryviy Rih. Serhiy Lysak, the regional governor, also said the March 12 missile strike injured at least two other people.
- Strikes were alsoreported in Kharkiv,and Ukraine's Digital Transformation Ministry said air-raid alerts were issued in 10 regions surrounding Kyiv.
- Russias Defense Ministry said itsair-defense systems shot downsix drones overnight on March 12, one over Ukraine's Russia-annexed Crimea and five over the Black Sea.
- Ukraine has agreed to a US proposal for a30-day cease-firein the war against Russia, and the United States will lift the suspension of military aid, officials and a joint statement published by Kyiv said after more than nine hours of talks in Saudi Arabia.
- Ukraine launched alarge-scale drone attackthat struck Moscow and the Moscow region overnight on March 11, killing at least one person and causing damage to residential buildings and infrastructure.
- US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reportersthatUkraine would have to make concessionsto Russia over land it has occupied since 2014 as part of any peace agreement.
